About Jacksonville Adoption Attorney
This website focuses on identified adoption matters connected to Jacksonville and Northeast Florida. Legal services are provided by Tammi J. Driver, Attorney at Law.
Helping families complete identified adoptions
This website is dedicated to a specific kind of adoption: one where the adoptive family and the expectant or birth parent have already found each other and need an attorney to guide them through the legal process. It is not an adoption agency or a matching service. It is a legal resource for families in Jacksonville and Northeast Florida who want to turn a personal connection into a legally completed adoption.
Many families arrive at identified adoption after finding each other through personal networks or other introductions. They know the family they want to place with or adopt through, but they are not sure what comes next. Tammi provides clear, individualized guidance so families understand each step and can make informed decisions.
Expectant parents who have already chosen an adoptive family are also welcome to ask about their rights, their options, and who the attorney represents.
Clear communication
Adoption involves legal concepts that can feel overwhelming. Tammi is committed to explaining the process in plain language so families understand each step and can make informed decisions.
Individualized guidance
No two adoptions are the same. Each case is reviewed and guidance is tailored to the family, the expectant or birth parent, and the states involved.

Tammi J. Driver
Tammi J. Driver practices adoption law exclusively. She is Board Certified in adoption law by The Florida Bar, a distinction held by a small percentage of Florida attorneys, and is a Fellow of the Academy of Adoption & Assisted Reproduction Attorneys.
Her path to adoption law began outside the courtroom. Tammi first worked in adoption as a licensed mental health counselor, providing guidance to expectant mothers and conducting home studies of prospective adoptive parents. That experience gave her a grounded understanding of what families and birth parents go through, emotionally and practically, long before any legal documents are signed.
She earned her law degree with honors from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2005. Today, her practice is devoted entirely to adoption, helping families and birth parents navigate the legal process with clarity and care.

How the firm approaches adoption representation
When you reach out, the first conversation is an opportunity to share where you are in the process and ask questions. There is no obligation in reaching out. Tammi will listen, explain what to expect, and help you understand whether she can assist with your situation.
If she represents you, the attorney will review your circumstances in detail, explain the legal steps ahead, coordinate with other professionals, and guide the case through to finalization. If your situation calls for separate counsel for the expectant or birth parent, the attorney will discuss that with you openly.
Clear communication is a priority throughout. You should understand what is happening at each stage, what is required of you, and what to expect next. If you have questions at any point, you are encouraged to ask.
